Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 24, 2026
General-purpose notice. This policy is a general-purpose statement of our practices and is not legal advice.
1. Who we are
SommerTech Solutions ("SommerTech," "we," "us") is a managed security service provider for small and mid-size businesses. This policy explains what information we collect through sommertech.solutions (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have. The Site is a simple informational website with one contact form.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you use the "Get your free security assessment" form, you provide:
- your name
- your work email address
- your company name
- your company size (a range you select)
- the message you write
Please do not put passwords, security keys, or other sensitive credentials or confidential data in the form. If you email us directly, we receive the information in your email.
Information collected automatically
- Form submission details. When you submit the form, the notification we receive also includes your IP address and the time of submission. The form also sends a hidden timestamp of when the page loaded, which we use to spot automated spam.
- Traffic and security data. Our network provider and web host process technical data needed to deliver and protect the Site, such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, and timestamps (see Section 5).
3. How we use information
- To respond to your request and schedule an assessment or follow-up.
- To operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Site, including blocking spam and abuse.
- To understand overall Site traffic using privacy-friendly analytics.
- To meet legal obligations and to protect our rights.
We use contact form details only to respond to you and to keep reasonable business records of the inquiry. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
4. How contact form messages are handled
Your form submission is sent by email to a SommerTech company mailbox. As a result, your message is stored and processed by our email service providers under their own terms and privacy policies. We keep inquiry emails for as long as reasonably needed to respond to you and to maintain business records, and we delete them when they are no longer needed.
Rate limiting. To limit spam and abuse, the Site temporarily counts recent form submissions per IP address. For this we store only a one-way hash of the IP address and the times of recent submissions, in a temporary file on the web server. It is used for a short window of about 10 minutes and is not used for any other purpose.
5. Cloudflare, hosting, and analytics
The Site is served through Cloudflare, which acts as a security and delivery network in front of our web host. Cloudflare processes visitor requests (including IP addresses) in order to deliver the Site, filter malicious traffic, and provide aggregate traffic statistics. We use Cloudflare's privacy-friendly Web Analytics beacon, which measures page views and performance in aggregate; according to Cloudflare, it does not use cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not fingerprint visitors. We do not use advertising trackers, advertising networks, or social media tracking pixels.
The Site is hosted by a third-party web hosting provider, whose servers may keep ordinary access and error logs. For details on how these providers handle data, see the Cloudflare Privacy Policy and the privacy policy of our hosting provider.
6. Cookies
The Site itself does not set any cookies and does not use browser local storage for tracking. In rare cases, such as when Cloudflare presents a security check to a visitor who looks like an automated bot, Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie. We do not use cookies for advertising or profiling, so we do not show a cookie banner.
7. Sharing
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the Site and handle email (such as our web host, Cloudflare, and our email providers), and when required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property. If SommerTech is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
8. Security and retention
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including HTTPS encryption in transit, security headers, and restricted access to our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described above or as required by law.
9. Your choices and rights
You may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, or to correct or delete it. Depending on where you live, including California, you may have additional privacy rights. To make a request, send us a message through the contact form on our home page. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights. The Site does not respond differently to "Do Not Track" signals because it does not track you across other websites.
10. Children
The Site is intended for business users and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last changed, and material changes will be posted on this page.
